Description

Philly cheesesteak grilled wrap delivers classic sandwich flavors in a convenient handheld package. Melted provolone, tender beef, and sautéed peppers create a mouthwatering meal you’ll crave again and again.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Protein:

  • 1 lb (453.6 g) thinly sliced beef steak

Vegetables:

  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup (150 g) sliced mushrooms

Cheese and Wrap Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup (113 g) shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 cup (113 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Sear thinly sliced beef in hot olive oil over medium-high heat until browned and caramelized, approximately 3-4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, then transfer to a separate plate.
  2. In the same skillet, sauté sliced onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms until they become soft and slightly translucent, around 5 minutes.
  3. Reintroduce the browned beef to the vegetable mixture, stirring to combine and reheat thoroughly.
  4. Arrange tortillas flat and distribute provolone and mozzarella cheese across the center of each wrap.
  5. Evenly distribute the beef and vegetable mixture directly onto the cheese layer of each tortilla.
  6. Carefully fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling, creating a compact package by rolling tightly.
  7. Place wraps on a preheated grill pan or skillet at medium heat, cooking for 2-3 minutes per side until the exterior turns golden and crispy, ensuring the cheese melts completely.
  8. Remove from heat, slice diagonally, and serve immediately while warm and crisp.

Notes

  • Choose lean cuts of beef like sirloin or flank steak for a healthier version without compromising flavor.
  • For vegetarian alternatives, swap beef with portobello mushrooms or plant-based protein strips that mimic meat texture.
  • Try different cheese combinations like sharp cheddar or pepper jack to customize taste profiles.
  • Ensure meat is sliced against the grain for maximum tenderness and easier chewing during each bite.
